Livia Eggler holds a Master of Architecture from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. She uses architecture as a way to foster an inclusive city. Her particular approach is visible throughout all her projects. Especially in her master thesis „Common Ground“ she explores the potential of the Urban Commons. It is her aim to re-appropriate the city in a new way and to explore the role of architecture and the architect in it.
Her projects have been published in several magazine, for example Argus (2018 edition: „Bold Initiatives“). She was also invited to present her project at various events. For instance at the EU headquarters in the context of the summer university on European citizenship 2018 organised by the European Citizens‘ Rights, Involvement and Trust. In 2019 she was an invitee to the Office of Urban Development in Zurich regarding the new Kommunaler Richtplan 2030. She also won the 24 hours garden competition at the ETH 2015. During her two interships at the architecture office Jaeger Koechlin Architekten in Basel, Switzerland, and at the RaumlaborBerlin in Berlin, Germany, she gained hands-on knowledge. She was the main designer and organizer of the exhibition „Good Spaces“ by RaumlaborBerlin in Esslingen, Germany. Furthermore, she travelled through Denmark where she co-organized at the Wellcome Festival the Great Escape with ON/OFF and RaumlaborBerlin.
Currently she is based in Berlin, Germany, and works on participatory projects such as Dorf im Dorf and the Baupalast.
